OFF-ROAD ONE-DAY TOURS

JEBEL SHAMS / AL HOOTA CAVE / MISFAT AL ABRIYYIN  ……..  Omr 140

The first leg of the trip is a visit of the renowned Al Hoota Cave which is a tunnel 2.7 km long.    The main attraction is a large subterranean chamber as large as the ballroom of Al Bustan Palace Hotel in Muscat and the underground lake some 800 m in length which is home to a rare and delicate species of blind fish. The tour then proceeds to Misfat al Abriyyin which is a charming ancient village 5 km up the road from Al Hamra.  The village is set in a stunning landscape above terraced plantations of date palms.  The trip then proceeds to a steep drive to the edge of Jebel Shams, the “Grand Canyon” of the Middle East, just in time for a beautiful sunset.

  • WADI BANI AWF / BALAD SAYT / LITTLE SNAKE CANYON  .……  Omr 130









    This is one of the most spectacular wadis in Oman.   The route cuts at the base of the massive north face of Jebel Shams, and nestled at the base of this 1,100 m cliff is the picturesque village of Balad Sayt, said to be the prettiest in Oman.  On the way back, the guests are given opportunity to visit the Little Snake Canyon which allows for plenty of photo opportunity while they walk amidst towering cliffs and in parts of the way wade through shallow waters and a bit of scrambling over boulders to reach a pool where the guests could take a refreshing dip.

      DAY OF FORTS - NIZWA FORT / JABRIN FORT / BAHLA FORT .… Omr 130









      Nizwa is about 140 km from Muscat.  The notable attractions include NIzwa’s 17th century Fort and the magnificent Jabrin Fort noted for its walls ad ceiling decorations and its secret passageways and staircases. The Nizwa souk is an interesting and atmospheric place where visitors will find many examples of local silversmiths’ art, especially the ornately engraved khanjars.  Next stop is Bahla Fort, situated on Balhool Mountain, which is included in Unesco’s list of World Heritage Sites.
